September 2008

Jeremy started singing this song out of the blue while homeschooling. “A worship song?” I said to myself…..”This must be from God!” So we looked it up and found a LEGO version….of the Superchicks song “We Live”  We had a good laugh but also a great reminder…..”today we remember to learn and to love.” Thanks Dad!

Here is their original music video

Here is the LEGO version….so cute!

“We Live” by the Superchicks

There’s a cross on the side of the road
Where a mother lost a son
How could she know that the morning he left
Would be the last time she’d trade with him for a little more time
So she could say she loved him one last time
And hold him tight
But with life we never know
When we’re coming up to the end of the road
So what do we do then
With tragedy around the bend?

We live we love
We forgive and never give up
Cuz the days we are given are gifts from above
And today we remember to live and to loveWe live we love
We forgive and never give up
Cuz the days we are given are gifts from above
And today we remember to live and to love
There’s a man who waits for the tests
To see if the cancer has spread yet
And now he asks, “So why did I wait to live till it was time to die?”
If I could have the time back how I’d live
Life is such a gift
So how does the story end?
Well this is your story and it all depends
So don’t let it become true
Get out and do what we were meant to do
We live we love
We forgive and never give up
Cuz the days we are given are gifts from above
And today we remember to live and to love
We live we love
We forgive and never give up
Cuz the days we are given are gifts from above
And today we remember to live and to love
Waking up to another dark morning
People are mourning
The weather in life outside is storming
But what would it take for the clouds to break
For us to realize each day is a gift somehow, someway?
So get our heads up out of the darkness
And spark this new mindset and start to live life cuz it ain’t gone yet
And tragedy is a reminder to take off the blinders
And wake up and live the life we’re supposed to take up
Moving forward with all our heads up cuz life is worth living

We live we love
We forgive and never give up
Cuz the days we are given are gifts from above
And today we remember to live and to love

Just found out today that Disneyland is offering free admission on your birthday. Will wonders ever cease?

My favorite candy is here! - Reese’s peanut butter pumpkins. The different holiday shapes (pumpkins, trees, hearts, eggs) are better than the regular cups because the peanut butter to chocolate ratio is much higher :) I didn’t realize how much I liked them until I started craving them in August. You don’t know how long a stretch it is from Easter to Halloween!  haha,  I got a little break when I found a Reece’s Batman special edition. I only got one cuz when I went back to my source they were gone :( ……. I know…. I’m weird….. :)

We had a fun field trip at the fair. The LA Fair in Pomona let homeschoolers come in two hours before the public (every day), along with free tickets, free parking, free milk and free return child ticket,. It was a great program! Jeremy saw a newborn lamb, (with cord still attached and the mother’s placenta hanging out), new born goats, he saw pig races and learned about insects and farm plants. He also played with LEGOs and we discovered they have a judging competition, so next year we may enter! We hooked up with cousin Emily  while there too!

Today was opening day for Soccer. The team took group pictures and then had fun at the carnival. Towards the end of the day, Jeremy got to be in the dunk tank and I nailed him ! :)

Jeremy and I are having fun playing Cluefinders computer games. They’re really designed well and make learning math and critical thinking fun! We just finished to the Incredible Toy Store Adventure. Last month it was The Mystery of Mathra. Check it out! www.learningcompany.com

I love this radio station for kids. www.hiskids.net  It’s great to listen to while we’re homeschooling. This station is so kid appropriate and has very few commercials. It has stories too like Adventures in Odyssey, Veggie Tales, Jungle Jam, Life at the Pond. Paws and Tales. It’s great!  Plus I can listen to it on my IPOD Touch (using Tuner Internet Radio application by Nullriver) while cradled in my IHOME :)   sighhhh…. I love technology :)
